Standing at water edge, looking out into the vast sparkling golden glow. Peaceful and calming. High school heartaches, good old days.

I just watched Ocean Waves. A story about a Tokyo girl transferred to a country town, with her broken family, stirring up feelings from a couple of best friends. And with the misunderstanding of young vanity, all drifted apart, only to slowly grow into accepting their stubbornness years later in their high school reunion. Nice warm feeling, in a beautiful country setting, full of light and calming self-reflecting scenes. This is what I love about Japanese movies and anime. The simplicity and easy flow of youth is smoothly portrayed in yet another extraordinary production from Studio Ghibli.

Winter freezes on the tip of my nose. I sit on my balcony, snuggle up and dream about my school days. First love.
